Private Browser-Local Image Analysis
Some photography questions are about an actual file: which settings it reports, how many pixels it contains, where a rendered histogram reaches an edge, or which print shape requires a crop. ImageReason can answer selected questions from a file you choose in the browser. The file is processed locally for the feature you request. Image bytes, decoded pixels, metadata, filename, and results are not sent to ImageReason analytics or a server.
"Local" does not mean a magic quality detector. The page separates three kinds of information. File facts include a byte size, decoded width and height, and any readable metadata fields. Rendered-pixel measurements include histogram counts or a sampled edge map. Heuristics are limited signals, such as a sharpness proxy, that can suggest a next check but cannot prove the cause of softness, noise, or a bad photograph.
Metadata is treated carefully. A field can be present in the file, absent, unreadable in that format, or unsupported in the current browser. Missing shutter speed or camera model does not prove that someone removed it. A software tag is not a complete editing history. Location coordinates and serial-like identifiers are not displayed in version one, even when a file contains them.
Rendered pixels need the same caution. A histogram can show that the browser-decoded file has values near black or white. It cannot tell you how much RAW highlight data a camera retained, whether a bright subject was intentional, or how the print will look. When ImageReason downsamples an image for responsiveness, it labels that sampling method because fine details can change the aggregate result.
You remain in control of the file lifecycle. Choose an image, let the requested analysis run, then cancel or reset. The product is designed to remove the local analysis state when you reset or leave the route. Any copy or export is explicit and must preview the information it includes. The tools do not generate a share link, upload the original, or send a hidden "image analyzed" payload with dimensions or results.
The strongest output from a local analyzer is a next decision. Use metadata as a starting record for a new capture. Use a histogram to inspect a specific bright or dark area. Use dimensions to compare crops and print sizes. Then test the real output. A transparent limitation is more useful than a confident-sounding score that cannot explain what it measured.
FAQ
No. The local-image engines process the file in the browser and do not send image bytes, metadata, filename, or results to ImageReason analytics.
No. They measure the decoded file available in the browser and do not establish camera RAW headroom.
It may be absent, unreadable in the file format, or unsupported by the current browser. The tools do not guess.
