Local Image Analysis Lab
What does a crop to this aspect ratio actually keep?
Choose your image and it stays in this browser. Preview a target aspect-ratio crop and see the retained pixels and fraction, composition remains your decision.
Answer
Your image is decoded and analyzed in this browser tab only. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere else, and nothing about it reaches analytics.
Analyze an image to see what crop arithmetic does not decide.

Geometry, kept separate from composition
A local crop preview can show which pixels remain for a delivery aspect ratio. It cannot decide what the image should include. The page keeps the image in the browser, gives you a visible boundary and retained-pixel result, and leaves the composition and export decision to you.
A 6000×4000 local image cropped to 5:4 retains 5000×4000 pixels, or about 83 percent of the decoded pixel count. A 16:9 crop keeps full width and removes height. Compare both overlays with the actual critical edges visible, then make the chosen crop in your editor. The arithmetic cannot know which edge matters to the photograph.
The optical values here are ideal geometric limits, not measured lens performance. Focus, motion, aberrations, subject contrast, sensor processing, crop, and output can change practical detail.
Your selected file is processed in this browser. Image bytes, metadata, filename, pixels, and derived results are not uploaded or sent to analytics. A rendered-file measurement is not proof of RAW data, scene conditions, provenance, or artistic quality.
Compare the chosen crop and output at the intended physical size and viewing distance. A proof is more informative than a generic PPI or quality label because it includes the actual subject, processing, paper, and display context.
FAQ
- Will this automatically crop my image?
- No. It previews local geometry only. Your image is not uploaded or changed by this tool.
- Is this a guarantee?
- No. The result is bounded by the inputs and assumptions shown on the page. It is designed to support a better next decision, not replace a test, measurement, proof, or professional judgement where one is needed.
