Disclaimer
ImageReason's tools support planning and understanding a photograph or an image file. They are not a substitute for a light meter, a calibrated monitor, a color-managed print workflow, or your own judgment on set.
Optical and exposure calculations
Depth of field, hyperfocal distance, exposure, field of view, and system-equivalence results are model approximations built from documented formulas and stated assumptions (see the Methodology page). Real lenses, sensors, and atmospheric or lighting conditions vary, and a calculated value should be checked against your own gear before it drives a shoot you can't repeat.
Local image analysis
Where a tool measures an image you select (histogram, clipping, dimensions, or a labeled sharpness or noise estimate), that measurement reflects only what the file itself contains under the method stated for that tool. A heuristic estimate is never a certified reading of lens quality, focus accuracy, sensor dynamic range, color accuracy, or editing history, and is labeled as an estimate rather than a definitive fact.
What this site does not attempt
- Identify a person, a face, or a specific individual in an image.
- Verify whether an image is authentic, unedited, or AI-generated.
- Provide a medical, forensic, or legal conclusion about an image.
- Replace a colorimeter, a calibrated light meter, or a professional print proof.
How to use a result
Treat every calculation and every local analysis result as a well-reasoned starting point for the actual shoot, edit, or print, not a final authority. For decisions that carry real cost, such as a paid shoot, a large print run, or equipment you can't easily return, verify against your own equipment or a qualified professional before committing.
