A photographic reasoning toolkit, not a calculator directory
Turn photographic variables and actual images into a clearer next decision.
A photographer rarely wants a single number. They want to know what it changes about the shot, what's limiting the result, what the real alternatives are, and what to actually do next. ImageReason is built around that whole decision, not just the arithmetic underneath it.
The Photographic Reasoning Layer
Every tool follows the same order, with only as much depth as the decision deserves. A straightforward unit conversion does not need six stages. A camera-system equivalence decision, a focus-stacking plan, or a print-resolution check might legitimately need most of them.
- AnswerThe setting, result, or recommendation, first.
- VisualizeThe physical or image consequence made legible: a focus zone, a frame overlay, a histogram.
- DiagnoseThe constraint actually limiting the shot or the file: diffraction, clipping, insufficient overlap, noise.
- CompareReal alternatives, not arbitrary variants: two lenses, two systems, two print targets.
- Stress-testHow the result moves if a condition changes: light, distance, sensor, ISO.
- PlanA concrete action for the shoot or the file: a focus position, a bracketing sequence, a packing list.

Analyze: bring your own image into the decision
When a question is about a real photograph, not just a hypothetical setting, an image you select is decoded and inspected directly in your browser: dimensions, orientation, exposure metadata, histogram, and similar evidence a decision can actually use. The file itself, its name, its path, and anything derived from it never leave your device, and none of it is ever sent to analytics.
Built to run entirely on your device
There is no account, no cloud project, and no server doing the photographic reasoning for you: every calculation and every local image inspection happens on your device, every time. A tool that goes viral does not create a bill, because nothing about using it touches a server beyond delivering the page itself.
Read how results are calculated and validated on the Methodology page, or how images and analytics are handled on the Privacy page.
