Local Image Analysis Lab
What print sizes does my actual photo support?
Choose your image and it stays in this browser. Compare a full-frame border, a center crop, and your paper's PPI using its actual decoded pixel dimensions.
Answer
Your image is decoded and analyzed in this browser tab only. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere else, and nothing about it reaches analytics.

Your actual file makes the crop decision tangible
An actual image file makes print planning more concrete because the browser can read its rendered pixel dimensions and place a paper-shaped frame over the local preview. That is useful for deciding whether to crop, preserve the full frame with borders, or make a smaller output. It is still not a print-quality guarantee. Pixel dimensions describe the file's available sampling. They do not measure the subject detail, focus accuracy, motion, lens behavior, color management, paper, printer, or the distance at which a print will be seen.
Choose an image and it stays in your browser. The page does not upload the file, send its dimensions to analytics, or send it to a printer. After the image is decoded locally, choose a paper size and decide whether preserving the whole frame or filling the paper matters more. The result shows the PPI arithmetic and the exact area that would be excluded or bordered.
When an image and paper have different aspect ratios, there is no hidden perfect setting. A crop fills the paper but removes an edge. Borders preserve the frame but leave paper around it. The best choice is a composition decision that this page cannot make for you. Compare the options at the intended paper shape before committing.
The displayed preview is a local planning view. It may be downsampled for responsiveness and does not simulate printer detail, color, sharpening, or paper texture. Use the PPI result as one input, then use viewing distance and a proof print to judge the actual output. A 6000 by 4000 pixel file, for example, supplies 250 PPI at 24 by 16 inches before crop. A more aggressive crop reduces both dimensions and can change that ratio quickly.
After choosing the frame, prepare the delivery file with the printer's color-management instructions. This tool does not embed a profile, write a crop, or alter your original. Its job is to make the composition and sampling consequences visible before you make an irreversible export or print choice.
FAQ
- Is my image uploaded to calculate the print size?
- No. The selected image is decoded and analyzed locally in the browser.
- Does this tell me whether the print will be sharp?
- No. It calculates PPI and crop geometry. Detail, viewing distance, processing, paper, printer, and color management still matter.
- Will this crop my original file?
- No. Version one only plans the crop and does not modify or export your image.
