Motion is an exposure and timing decision. Shutter time, focal length, image movement, frame rate, and readout can all change what appears in a frame. A calculation can make the trade visible, but it cannot decide what blur looks right or how a particular camera will behave under a moving subject.

For time lapse and panoramas, coverage and consistency matter as much as one setting. Make a short test with the real camera, light, move, and output path. Lock or document the variables that must remain stable, leave storage and timing margin, then inspect the first results before committing.

Video exposure has its own vocabulary layered on top of ordinary shutter/aperture/ISO arithmetic. A shutter angle describes exposure time as a fraction of the frame period at a given frame rate rather than an absolute shutter speed, so the same declared angle produces a different absolute exposure time at 24fps than at 60fps. That relationship is exact arithmetic; it says nothing about whether a particular angle will look "cinematic," which depends on the subject's motion, the lens, and the intended look far more than the number itself.

A time lapse compresses a captured duration into a shorter delivered one through frame count and interval, and an exposure transition across a changing-light sequence divides a total EV change across that same frame count to produce a per-frame step size. Both calculations are exact given their declared inputs, but neither can guarantee flicker-free footage: camera processing, discrete aperture or ISO steps, and the light source itself can all introduce visible variation that the arithmetic does not model. A panorama's overlap and frame-count arithmetic carries the same caveat for stitching: coverage does not guarantee alignment when foreground parallax, subject motion, or a drifting camera position are also in play.
