Bitrate, not resolution, sets file size
Video storage begins with encoded bitrate, not resolution alone. Two files at the same resolution can have very different sizes when their bitrates, codecs, recording durations, or modes differ. Enter the value the camera or recorder documents, then keep overhead and copies visible.
A 100Mb/s clip records about 750MiB each minute. Ten minutes is about 7.5GiB before overhead. Six such clips are 45GiB; add 20% working overhead and four declared copies and the planning capacity becomes much larger. That arithmetic is a capacity plan, not a promise that the device will write, the codec will remain constant, or the backup is resilient.
This is a planning calculation, not a certification. Confirm the relevant camera, lens, card, printer, contract, location, or workflow constraint in the real setup before relying on the result.
Compare the chosen crop and output at the intended physical size and viewing distance. A proof is more informative than a generic PPI or quality label because it includes the actual subject, processing, paper, and display context.
